Finalmente este trío de Brooklyn consiguió sacar su material de larga duración; más recatado si lo comparamos con Nano-Nucleonic Cyborg Summoning, pero de igual calidad que su obra hermana. Las canciones son ahora más cortas y menos saturadas, haciendo más digerible el sonido del disco, demostrando un trabajo más refinado de producción. Con colaboraciones del tecladista progresivo Jordan Rudess de Dream Theater y el guitarro vanguardista Mick Barr de Orthrelm, Skullgrid marca una nueva etapa para BTA.
